Cherones, the Emmy-award winning director/producer of
Seinfeld

with enduring quality and grace in 1919 for the Stearns family
of Miami.

climate's good. The old-timer who made our rocking chairs
even says that tornados jump right over. This 5 bedroom, 4
bath estate supports one of the finest bed and breakfasts
in the tri-state area, the income comes steady, and Barb McCarthy
and the Mountain Grove Team have kept the business operating
year round, even when travels have taken us away for months
at a time. In her efforts to dissuade our selling the place,
my mother points out that besides being nestled safely on
this mountaintop, the estate is sustainable and functional
(what with the chicken coop, outbuildings & well water).

She's right, of course. This Mentone,
Alabama, Lookout Mountain Parkway area is one of the most
beautiful places I've been in all my travels! I can truly
say that I have experienced every single day here in awe of
the natural beauty. The neighbors are wonderful, the
community is creative and juicy, and we're just the right
distance from all the right cities: Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga
and Huntsville
But just as I followed my intuition to this mountain 14 years ago, the urgings of my heart now whisper to me of new fields of study and opportunities for service. And I am writing to ask you: Does your heart call you here?

The canyon and the sky are a living light show and how do
I even describe the way light plays in the winter on the golden
walls through the wavy patterns of the antique hand-poured
windows? We freeze our own blueberries in the summer. In fall
we press the leaves.
